NAWATECH INSTALLATION IN INDIA

Reading time: < 1

In May 2014, BIOAZUL team successfully installed a waste water compact system, which is a low cost in operation and maintain system that will be used to treat urban waste water in Pune, India.

The installed system is a combination of a membrane biological reactor (MBR) and sequential biological reactor (SBR). It is capable of treating 45 cubic meters of water each day to be use as an alternative source to cover up the shortage of the region and avoiding the contamination of natural sources.

The installation was done under the frame of the European project: NaWaTech, which aims to develop different waste water treatment technologies to face shortage in urban areas of India. The NaWaTech concept is based on the optimized use of different urban water flows through the proper treatment for each of them through a natural or technological modular system, taking into account the diverse nature and level of contamination of the different water sources.
