easyTRAIN Final Online Event

January 28 @ 09:30 - 12:30 CET

The easyTRAIN project is coming to a close, and we are excited to invite you to our final online event to present the innovative research conducted by our six Early Stage Researchers (ESRs). This event marks the culmination of four years of collaborative work to advance sustainability in aquaculture.

Why Attend?

Aquaculture is the fastest-growing food production sector, providing more than 50% of the world’s seafood. However, ensuring its sustainable and profitable growth remains a challenge. The easyTRAIN project has tackled this issue by developing innovative aquaponics systems and organic feed formulas that replace traditional fishmeal with sustainable alternatives like Spirulina and quinoa.

This event will showcase the results of the project and highlight solutions for the future of the aquaculture sector, developed through the collaboration of academic and industry partners from Spain, Portugal, the Netherlands, and Italy.

What’s on the Agenda?

Our six researchers will present their findings on key areas of sustainable aquaculture:

  • Project 1: Optimizing feed intake with organic diets.
  • Project 2: Synchronization of fish and plant rhythms in aquaponics to improve nutrient efficiency.
  • Project 3: Engineering biorefineries to integrate fish and microalgae production.
  • Project 4: Improving microalgae production through optimized LED lighting and biotechnology.
  • Project 5: Assessing fish welfare in aquaponics systems with organic feed.
  • Project 6: Enhancing feeding protocols for fish in aquaponics systems.

Join us to celebrate the achievements of the EASYTRAIN project and explore new solutions for a more sustainable future in aquaculture.
