From BIOAZUL we participated in the EU Green Week 2024, a pivotal event dedicated to addressing water resilience in Europe. This year’s theme, “Water Resilience for a Sustainable Future,” resonates deeply with our mission to promote sustainable water management and innovative solutions across the continent. Our involvement in this prestigious event underscores our commitment to fostering a water-resilient Europe through groundbreaking projects: BOOST-IN, P2GreeN, and Cardimed.
BOOST-IN Project Presentation – 30th May 2024
On May 30th, we participated in the “Water Resilience with EU Projects” event, organized by the Finnova Foundation. Our colleague, Rafael Casielles, delivered an insightful presentation on the BOOST-IN project, emphasizing the project’s significance and the imperative to share its outcomes with other European stakeholders.
Rafael highlighted the advances and synergies created through BOOST-IN alongside other innovative projects like LESS WATT, ULTIMATE, and GREENLIFE4SEAS. The enriching roundtable discussion that followed delved into the future of innovation in Europe, underscoring the importance of transnational collaboration in tackling current environmental challenges.
P2GreeN International Conference – 31st May 2024
On May 31st, we proudly hosted the “P2GreeN International Conference: A Wave of Change for Better Water Solutions”. This event, part of the EU Green Week, aimed to address global water issues through sustainable and innovative approaches crucial for our future.
The conference featured a strategic overview by Anita Beblek from Agrathaer, focusing on P2GreeN’s pioneering methods to combat water pollution and promote circular solutions. Expert panels discussed improving water governance in regions like The Axarquia in Spain, with notable contributions from our own Gerardo González. Source separation techniques were also explored, with insights from Carsten Beneker from Agrathaer and David de Chambrier from VunaNexus AG, emphasizing their potential to alleviate water resource stress. Laura Vivani from Moverim concluded the event with key insights into the sustainable bioeconomy, highlighting outcomes from previous P2GreeN conferences.
Cardimed Webinar – 11th June 2024
On June 11th, we participated in the Cardimed project webinar, focusing on the implementation of nature-based solutions (NBS) for climate resilience in the Mediterranean region. The Cardimed project aims to establish a robust framework and network to enhance climate resilience through the integration and mainstreaming of NBS for climate adaptation and mitigation.
The webinar featured presentations from the lead researchers of Cardimed, focusing on water circularity and resilience achieved through four key pillars: digital technologies, social resilience, the WEFE Nexus, and nature-based solutions. As the leader of communication and dissemination for Cardimed, BIOAZUL has played a crucial role in organizing this impactful project.
Conclusion
Our participation in the EU Green Week 2024 highlights our dedication to advancing water resilience through innovative projects and collaborative efforts. We are proud to contribute to this essential dialogue and look forward to continuing our work towards a sustainable, water-resilient future.
